Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Automotive Diesel) position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Industrial and Transportation Technology department. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. 

UnderthegeneralsupervisionoftheDeanofthedivision,and the DepartmentChairofAutomotiveTechnology department, the Adjunct Automotive Diesel Instructor must be able to selectandassessstudentlearningoutcomes,fostereffective learninginbothclassroomandlabsettings,andpromotegoodpublicrelationsviacontactsandregularcommunicationswithbusiness, industry,andthepublicsector.This position requires a passion, demonstrated by experience, for effective teaching and advisement of diverse students.

The primary duties and responsibilities for this position will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

·Developsandreviewsprogramandsyllabi,goalsandobjectivesaccordingtoapprovedcurriculumandcoursesyllabi, standards.

·Demonstratestheeffectiveuseoforalandwrittencommunication skillsandknowledgeofcurrentproceduresinthe Automotive/Dieselfield.

·Evaluatesandreviewsstudents'progressinattaininggoalsandobjectives.

·Instructs,advisesandcounsels studentsandmaintainsappropriateadvisementrecordsoneachstudent.

·Monitor'suseofsupplies,materials,andequipment.

·Requestsandmaintainssupplies andequipmentandpreparesbudget requests.

·Maintainsandreviewsclassroomsandlaboratoriesin accordancewithapprovedclassroomandlabmanagementplans.

·Maintainsandreviewsprogramcertificationrequirements,as appropriate.

·Preparesandmaintainsallrequireddocumentationandadministrativereports.

·Attendingstaffdevelopmenttraining, workshops,seminars,andconferences.

·EnsuressafetyandsecurityrequirementsaremetinU1etrainingarea.

·Meetswithstudents, staffmembersandothereducatorstodiscussstudents'instructionalprogramsandotherissues.

·Assistswithrecruitment,retention, andjobplacementefforts.

·Demonstratesand ensurestheuseofappropriateandeffectiveteachingtechniques,testingandgrading procedures(includingpropermaintenanceofgradebooksandanyotherappropriaterecord-keepingrequirements).

·Servesoncommittees, as needed.

·MaintainsASEcertificationsandensuresinstructor'squalificationsforemployment asdescribedbytheAtlantaTechnicalCollege,TechnicalCollegeSystemofGeorgiaPolicy Manualand accreditationstandards.

·FollowsandenforcesrulesandregulationsasdescribedbytheTechnicalCollegeSystemofGeorgiaPolicy Manualandotherpolicies andproceduresestablishedbytheinstitution.

·Possess and utilize excellentoral and writtencommunicationskills; and

·Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

·High school diploma or equivalent AND a post-secondary diploma in Automotive or Diesel technology.

·Relevant ASE certification in diesel technology specializations.

·Two (2) or more years working in the field.

·Experience working with heavy equipment is a plus.

·Must possess the competencies, skills, and knowledge level a diesel technology instructor will be expected to bring to the classroom; and

·Must possess and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
