Who are we?
Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne, located in the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga. Our dedicated team of nearly 3,000 staff supports a population of 250,000 people throughout North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. AWH is a dynamic organisation undergoing significant growth, including the development of new state of the art Emergency and Mental Health facilities.
The Opportunity
The Legal Counsel is responsible for the provision of timely professional and considered legal advice and the delivery of a full range of legal services to all areas of Albury Wodonga Health including its executive and executive committees. The Legal Counsel leads and co-ordinates activities to achieve Albury Wodonga Health’s objectives in the provision of legal services. The Legal Counsel is accountable to the Chief of Corporate Affairs and works closely with the Executive committee and senior leaders.
The position ensures that Albury Wodonga Health operates within the limits prescribed by law and that Albury Wodonga Health’s rights are properly protected. As a member of the Albury Wodonga Health Senior Leadership Team, the appointee will model the AWH values.
