What will you do?
 

The  program in Salem, Oregon has a fantastic career opportunity for an Environmental Services Supervisor (Construction & Facility Maintenance Supervisor 2).  The purpose of this position is to manage a team of 22 custodians. This position also assists the Director in all phases of planning, implementing, and evaluating the services provided by the department, directing EVS staff and managing the operations of the department. Ensure the hospital staff, visitors and patients are provided with a clean, safe, and healthy environment to work and live in; assuring the departments operational policy comply with state and federal laws, regulations and accreditation guidelines. This position is also responsible for coordination and implementing the hospital recycling and bio-hazard transport and storage, mold, rodent and pest control protection and treatment. Assist the Director in scheduling mandatory and annual training, developing weekly special project tracking list, assure performance standards meet Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of lead work, foreman work, or supervision

OR

One year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position AND completion of an accredited vocational-training or construction-training program related to the class concept.

OR

One year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field

OR

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Desired Attributes:

  • Requires knowledge of sanitation, cleaning and disinfection methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of custodial training principles, Joint Commission on Accreditation on Healthcare Organizations and Center for Medicare and Medicaid standards.
  • Quality Improvement and Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • One year of this experience must have included lead work or supervision in a comprehensive hospital/facility setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ability to solve basic technical computer issues.
  • Ability to use electronic work order systems.

Working Conditions:

Work schedule and shift 

Workdays: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

Days off: Tuesday/Wednesday

Work Hours: 8:30am – 7:00 pm.

Daily this position is required to perform work in areas where there are mentally disturbed patients. At any time, there is a chance of a violent outburst. This position is exposed daily to patients with communicable diseases, cleaning chemicals, agents, and fumes. They are required to work in large enclosed quarantined patient care areas and are required to safety lift a maximum of 50 lbs. They may be required to work hours that exceed regular scheduled hours such as a double shift or a different shift in addition to the regular schedule. This position is required to take and pass annual training in Infection Control, Fire Life Safety, remain N95 compliant, and to complete all other mandatory trainings.
