Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Energy and Sustainability Consultant to support our Energy team’s Decarbonization and Transmission and Distribution portfolios, focusing in utility customers nationally.

The successful candidate will have a technical background such as Engineering or Environmental Science as well as experience, knowledge and understanding of both regulated and non regulated utilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Leading project and program management activities ensuring that projects remain within scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, subconsultants and clients

  • Working with clients to develop sustainability goals and targets

  • Working with clients to develop and implement energy resilience strategies and programs

  • Overseeing data analysis and interpretation and/or creation of tools

  • Creating sustainability, resilience and smart energy plans for multiple client types

  • Providing leadership in sustainability consulting for multiple client types to help client meet sustainability goals.

  • Guiding our in-house disciplines to identify opportunities to meet client sustainability goals

  • There is opportunity in this role to support work undertaken by other parts of the team including net zero carbon strategies, vehicle electrification program management, transmission and distribution modernization plans/programs

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Sciences or a closely related field
  • Minimum 8 years of directly relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree preferred

  • Professional Certification (CEM, PE, EIT)

  • Demonstrated utility, energy industry, or data analysis experience
