Job Overview

You will work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to build a world-class financial product for millions of customers across the world to use daily. You will be a part of our global design team to design user flows and improve the overall design and user experience of the Branch app. The design team’s work encompasses all user journeys within the app across all of our products (wallets, savings, loans, rewards, debit cards) in all of our markets.


Responsibilities

  • Autonomy in project execution: You should be able to autonomously handle a Design project throughout the product development process starting from understanding PRDs, Design Kickoff, creating user flows, and wireframes to Hi-fi Mockups, Prototyping, Usability testing, creating Iterations to incorporate research recommendations, and finally handoff to engineers.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: You would closely work with Product Managers and User Researchers to understand user needs, product requirements, and business objectives. You would work with engineers to ensure design feasibility and provide support during design handoff and Design QA.
  • Design System: Contribute to the evolution of our design system and adhere to the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability of design solutions across products and markets.
  • Communication and Design Presentation: Strong written and verbal communication skills and Design Presentation Skills are required to effectively communicate your updates, thoughts, and design ideas.
  • Design Process: You should have a practical design process and should be accepting to absorb the design process and the broader product development process followed at Branch.
  • User research collaboration: You acknowledge and understand foundational and formative research techniques. You will work in collaboration with UX Researchers for usability testing and gather feedback to iterate on designs and improve usability.
  • Critical Feedback: You should possess the ability to give and receive critical feedback on both your and your peer designer’s work for achieving the best outcomes.
  • Data-driven Design Decisions: You demonstrate an ability to work in ambiguity and show objectivity in design decisions.
  • Curiosity: You stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, best practices and industry trends in UX design.
  • Motion Graphics / Micro-interaction skills are a plus.


Qualifications

  • You have 3+ years of experience in Product Design, User Experience Design and/or Interaction Design with a demonstrated ability to design world-class, delightful software consumer experiences. Knowledge of best practices in mobile design for Android is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Architecture, or a related design field.
  • Proficiency in Figma workflows and plugins.
  • You have expertise across a range of design skills, including strong visual design abilities. You have excellent attention to detail and take pride in delivering consistent, cohesive designs that empower our customers.
  • You know that startups are a team sport. Your effective communication and powerful collaboration are critical to succeed at Branch because of our globally distributed teams. You listen to others, speak your mind, and ask the right questions.
