REQUIREMENTS:

Paralegal certification or equivalent Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as paralegal in California litigation practice; experience in transactional work helpful Knowledge of all phases of litigation Command of Code of Civil Procedure and SLO Superior Court local rules Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Responsible and accountable, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment Organized and detail-oriented Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and organize work Works well under pressure and deadlines Attentive proofreader for grammar, spelling and punctuation Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality Professional and courteous to clients and staff Demonstrate good ethics and judgement Must be a notary public or willing to become a notary public at firm’s expense Familiar with Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Westlaw, timekeeping and document management software

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage active litigation calendar Correspond with clients, attorneys, and court staff Draft and respond to discovery Assist in preparation of pleadings and motions for filing with court Document review with clients and attorney Legal and factual research Draft correspondence Maintain corporate minute books and prepare annual filings Assist with corporate formation, business and real property agreements, and recording and processing filings with administrative and regulatory agencies Maintain client trademarks filings

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Legal research and investigation skills Written and verbal communication skills Time management and organization skills Critical thinking skills

Education: Must have college degree and/or Paralegal Certificate

Pay: Competitive, based on experience
