About the Department:

The Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music's mission is to enable every student to find his or her best musical voice; prepare each to fulfill society's need for artistic and innovative musicians, scholars, music educators, and ambassadors for the arts; and graduate each with hope, confidence, and distinction.

About the Position:

The Adjunct Applied Trombone Professor will teach individualized lessons, starting August 2024.

Responsibilities:

Teach Applied Trombone; Provide leadership to Mason’s Trombone Studio to include coordination of studio classes as well as on-campus and off-campus performances and events; Coordinate recruitment for the Trombone Studio; Coordinate recitals and juries for the Trombone Studio; and Participate in Brass Area initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience required; Successful experience teaching at the college level; Desire to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; and Established reputation as a professional artist with a documented portfolio of live performances and recordings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in Music.
