Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the oversight of Juvenile Supervision Agencies and Community Partners who receive state general funds through a grant or contract. This position will assist in the data collection, analysis, and reporting necessary for KDOC to provide oversight to juvenile supervision agencies and community partners to assist those agencies in increasing their capacity to make data driven decisions. Relationships with Directors, staff, advisory board members, and other community agencies/partners is necessary in this position.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for monitoring statewide contracts for services and/or programming, including but no limited to: Working with other KDOC staff as necessary to oversee contract procurement and renewal processes; Collecting, analyzing and reporting outcomes to KDOC staff and other stakeholders monthly, quarterly, or annually as needed; Assigning KDOC staff, juvenile supervision agencies, community partners and other stakeholders with questions and/or concerns as needed. Responsible for creating and maintaining a system that allows for oversight of outcomes related to juvenile supervision agencies and community partners who receive state grant funds, including but not limited to: Gathering progress reports and outcome data on all awarded grants; Collecting, analyzing, and reporting outcomes to KDOC staff and other stakeholders monthly, quarterly, or annually as needed. Responsible for providing oversight and support of the residential provider system, including but not limited to: Conducting site-visits to ensure compliance with programmatic standards and outcome expectations; Creating and monitoring completion of contracted provider Corrective Action Plans as necessary; Collecting, analyzing, and reporting outcomes to KDOC staff and other stakeholders monthly, quarterly, or annually as needed; Providing placement assistance to juvenile supervision agencies and KJCC staff; Assisting KDOC staff, juvenile supervision agencies, community partners, and other stakeholders with questions and/or concerns as needed. Serve as primary or back-up member on committee and/or workgroups as needed and directed by the Director of Grants and Quality Assurance or Deputy Secretary of Juvenile and Adult Community Based Services Assist the Director of Grants and Quality Assurance or Deputy Secretary of Juvenile and Adult Community Based Services in carrying out on site meetings, trainings, and statewide conferences; and otherwise supporting recidivism-reduction capacity-building in the community corrections agencies and the department. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

One year of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities relevant to the agency’s programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree with 24 credit hours in criminal justice, social sciences, or behavioral sciences.

One year of experience working with offenders or other high-risk population.

Experience auditing programs or services, including observing group work.

Experience in training/skills coaching.

Experience in writing reports or other technical documents.

Demonstrated ability to engage, coach, and motivate.

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of and experience in implementing evidence-based practices.

Strong interpersonal skills and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships.

Position requires the ability to be creative, use independent judgment, to think critically and adjust to a wide range of situations.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must pass a criminal history records check.
