Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction in the target language aligned to the curriculum and learning standards.
  • Establish a culture for learning within the classroom ensuring academic social and emotional growth for students.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress.
Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsements in early childhood elementary and/or selfcontained general education and bilingual (BSPS); Candidates who have passed the state TLP Spanish test and have obtained an ELS (TBE) license will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of the WIDA and Common Core State Standards and instructional best practices in language literacy and mathematics.
  • Strong classroom management skills and knowledge of the PBIS program.
  • Ability to speak read and write Spanish fluently.
