UI Employer Accounts Supervisor (Accounting Technician Supv.)

The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking applicants to fill the position of  UI Employer Accounts Supervisor  in the Employer Accounts Unit at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA.

This is a twelve-month time-limited position with benefits.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

Monitors, trains and corrects staff. Reviews, validates and makes multiple account adjustments to tax contribution reports and payments. Corrects departmental account errors. Issues/denies credit refunds. Validates delinquencies for filing and/or cancellation of tax lien documents at the county courthouses. Audits financial data or records and oversees preparation of data by staff. Processes federal documents and verifies accuracy of reports.  Approves and reviews account data as requested. Responds to employer, staff and department inquiries. Assigns and prioritizes work assignments to staff. Collects fees and/or revenue and ensures proper documentation to appropriate accounts.  Provides updates to staff and ensures compliance with federal, state and internal requirements.  Performs validation of staff reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Tax or related from an accredited college or university and two years related supervisory/management experience. Two years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions. Two years or more of work experience interpreting and applying unemployment insurance tax laws, rules and regulations. One year or more work experience using MS Word, Excel, Access.

Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience, which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or High School diploma/GED and (5) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or One (1) year of experience at the lower level Accounting Technician 3 (FIT022) or equivalent position.
