The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill multiple Employer Liability Adjudicator positions in the Adjudication Unit at the GDOL Headquarters in downtown Atlanta.
These are twelve-month time-limited positions with benefits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies knowledge of the Employment Security Law and department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to determine UI Tax liability. Renders initial liability determinations and/or changes on employers' coverage that require complicated determinations where the law is open to interpretation. Renders special liability determinations when coverage is questionable. Reviews and takes appropriate actions to register employers or research current registrations for tax reports received without any identifiable account number. Responds to tax liability, UI Tax, and Employer Portal inquiries from employers, payroll agents and/or departmental personnel. Assists with the training of Employer Liability Adjudicator Associates. Performs data entry and other duties, when needed, in support of the UI Tax AdministrationPREFERRED QUALIFICATION
An Associate degree in Business, Finance, Tax or related field and two years’ experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions or completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Two years or more experience as an Employer Liability Associate or a Field Tax Auditor Two years or more experience working in an unemployment insurance program One year or more experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access in an office setting Ability to type 50 wpmThe State of Georgia and Georgia Department of Labor offers a generous benefit program with wide variety of available choices:
