JOB DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety, and Environmental management.
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs.
  • Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
  • Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training.
  • Observe HSE regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, and correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to the proper personnel.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.


FACILITY / GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in formulating, implementing, and maintaining basic policies, programs, and techniques necessary to achieve company goals and regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental issues.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with safety and environmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory issues.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with department managers and supervisors to provide for and ensure that employees receive training and development in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Recognize potential HSE issues and monitor corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and conduct HSE training as necessary.
  • Locate, consolidate, label, and store waste per governmental regulations, coordinate waste removal and disposal with qualified waste haulers and disposal sites as well as all relevant documentation.
  • Prepare and file required HSE reports.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation by contacting external organizations and bodies to be familiar with new developments in HSE.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in HSE field or Occupational Health Certificate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of HSE experience is required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and industry standards (NFPA, ASME, ANSI, etc.) applicable to the manufacturing industry.
  • First aid, CPR, and AED trainer preferred.
  • Writes, sends and receives emails to internal and external customers.
  • Able to present and train multiple personnel in small or large groups.
  • May use company software to include: JDE, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, UKG Pro Workforce Management, and others as they become available.
