JOB DUTIES:

As a Benefit Accuracy Measurement Auditor, you will:

Examine and evaluate UI actions, documents, and computer data to confirm accuracy, adequacy, and propriety of actions and decisions on individual UI claims. Investigate and interview employers, UI claimants, and pertinent third parties via telephone, mail, and e-mail. Review and analyze completed cases, staff investigations, and denied claims, identifying issues or problems related to the program itself, or an individual’s entitlement to or eligibility for UI benefits. Take direct action, or refer for action, to resolve identified issues. Translate information/data collected during investigation into over 120 coded data elements on the SUN-system computer and assure accuracy of codes and data entry. Correct errors in the UI automated systems. Prepare required case summary for state and federal management. Participate in regional BAM reviews, evaluating and scoring the correctness of other states' audits using federal criteria and appropriate state laws.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time):

Principles and practices of insurance claim adjudication, standard audit practices, federal and state unemployment insurance laws and regulations, UI claims processing regulations and policies. Fact finding and investigative techniques, human behavior, and communication. Employment and wage standards, conditions and practices customary to industries and occupations within state, human rights, workers' compensation and accounting practices and procedures.

Skill in:

Prioritization of work and managing high workload under stressful conditions. Interviewing including the ability to judge the credibility of claimants and employers. Written and verbal communication. Multi-tasking and Organization Attention to Detail

Ability to:

Develop questions and communications depending on the comprehension level of the party being communicated with. Work independently, as well as, in a team environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:

Relevant bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field. Minimum of one year of directly related qualifying experience.

OR

Required knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience totaling five years.

OR

Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
