Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a CAD / Engineering Technician to be based in Des Moines, Iowa.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff.

  • Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and/or code requirements.

  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.

  • General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Performs routine duties; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED + two (2) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in MicroStation, knowledge of CADD, Projectwise, and Geopak is preferred.

  • Experience detailing roadway plans for Iowa DOT is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Iowa DOT standards and the Iowa DOT Roadway Detailing Guide is preferred.

  • Ability to calculate concrete and reinforcing steel bridge quantities is preferred.
