Job Overview

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with 5th-6th grade students with diverse learning needs and disabilities in a cross-categorical, self-contained classroom. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate educator who can create individualized learning plans, implement effective teaching strategies, and collaborate with other staff members and families to support student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and other required documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • PEL and LBS1 Required.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
