Duties
Coordinates, plans, and conducts national program management reviews, focused audits, evaluations, and inspections. Reports findings and makes recommendations to remedy identified problems. Follows up until solutions are complete. Coordinates Serious Accident Investigation Teams appointed by the Designated Agency Safety and Health Official. Serves as technical expert on investigation process, provides support to team, and communicates directly with DOI on critical milestones. Serves as the technical authority for safety program management to provide advice and guidance to BLM Leadership Teams, including strategic planning, development, guidance, implementation, and training for the safety program. Provides technical guidance and assistance to Safety and Occupational Health Managers/Specialists at lower organizational levels in the BLM. Works with other program specialists to integrate the safety program into all other program areas to achieve organizational strategic goals and objectives. May include training, sampling, noise dosimetry, critical information reporting, emergency planning, and mass communication.
