Responsibilities

include: Designs, deploys, and operates systems, networks, applications, and tools that support cybersecurity and cyber defense. Able to integrate hardware, software, and other components to solve operational challenges for cyber defenders. Perform data and network engineering functions to support cyber operations activities and systems. Engineers and deploys security and defensive countermeasures and controls. Executes security requirements definitions, systems analysis, systems design, security hardening, security test and evaluation, and certification and accreditation. Supports operational systems and performs activities such as vulnerability scanning, network, and system security configuration, etc. Design new approaches, methods and techniques for cyber defense and resiliency for information technology and operation technology. May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies. Developing and leading a cybersecurity project as well as mentoring other junior staff Coordinate the scientific and programmatic aspect of your project and team.

Also interested in staff with interest in performing one or more of the following:

Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for national security sponsors. Investigates and proposes solutions to advancing tools and techniques for cyber defense. Has wide-ranging experience in the cybersecurity field and uses that knowledge and experience to meet mission objectives, innovate, and solve complex challenges in creative and effective ways.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA and 7+ years of relevant work experience -OR- MS/MA and 5+ years of relevant work experience -OR- PhD with 3+ year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with telecommunications and IT systems. Understanding of optical and IP networks. Experience with systems integration, test and evaluation, installation and acceptance testing, and in-operation test and evaluation. Familiarity with: RF, fiber optic, Synchronous Optical Networking (SONET), Course and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM/DWDM), Optical Mesh and Reconfigurable Optical Add / Drop Multiplexers (ROADM), Frame Relay, ATM, Ethernet, Internet Protocol Routing and Switching, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), computing (Windows, Linux), storage, virtualization, cloud (private/public). Wide understanding of current cybersecurity vulnerabilities and operational landscape. Experience in design, development and implementation of countermeasures, cyber security systems integration, and manages tools specific to cyber security operations. Responsible for understanding project requirements and decomposing them into achievable deliverables. Experience in developing and presenting material to communicate project status and challenges. Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with clients and laboratory staff.

Additional Information

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance. 

Requirements:
