I.Interviewsyouth and/orfamiliesusingacceptabletechniques appropriatefortheindividual's level offunctioning toobtain necessary information regarding medical, social, and/or emotional background.

2.Contactsotherhealthcareprofessionals withinoroutsidetheorganizationasnecessary toobtain backgroundinformation on the youth.

3.Reviews the youth'srecordforbackgroundinformation.

4.Considersallavailableinformation toidentifypsycho-social stressors,strengths,challenges, risks,levelof functioning, and needs.

5.Completesawritten mental health inaccordancewithaccepted professional standards, DJJ policy,OBHS guidance and, direction from clinical supervisor.

6.Basedonassessmentfindings, determines appropriateservicesandalternateplansofcare

7.Makesnecessaryreferraltootherprovidersasindicatedbyfindingsintheyouth'smentalhealthassessment.

8.Documentsreferrals,recommendations,andplansinatimelymanner.

9.Correctlyfilesassessmentsand/or updatesin the youth'srecord.

Responsibility3 Providestherapeutic counseling toindividuals, groupsor families,toeffect positivechange in the youth's behavior and/or social situations.

I.Complieswithregulationsonconfidentialityofinformationasspecifiedbyagencypolicy.

2.Developsandimplementstreatmentplansand/orcrisismanagementplansinatimelymanner.

3.Conductsindividual treatmentsessionstoprovideappropriate support,guidance,anddirection toenhance the youth's personal and social development.

4.Facilitatesgrouptherapysessions usingacceptedtherapeutic methodstopromoteplannedchange.

5.Providescrisis intervention services inatimely mannertoyouthwhopresentwithseriousandimminent risk of harm toself or others due to mental health concerns.

7.Provideconsultationandguidance tootherstaffwhointeract with youth toensurethatsupervision andcare is provided inaconsistent manner to promote positive adjustment, safety, and development oftheyouth.

Responsibility4 Leads or participates as a member of a treatment team to identify youths' strengths, resources,symptoms, andpsychological challenges todevelopandmonitoraneffective plan of treatment.

I.Presentsacompleteandaccuratesummaryof the assessment totreatment team membersattreatment team meetings.

2.Participatesinthe identificationofyouth'sstrengths and weaknesses and theselection ofappropriate treatment goals and interventions.

3.Providesappropriateclinicalinput intothedevelopmentoftheyouth'streatmentplans.

4.Initiatesappropriatechanges intheyouth'streatment planattreatment team meetings based on a reassessment oftherapeutic needs.

7.Writesconcise,accurate,clearprogressnotesintheyouth'smentalhealth recordasrequiredbypolicy.

Responsibility 5: Preparesandsubmitsrequiredreportsandotherdocumentation.

1.Preparesaccuratereportsasrequiredbydepartmental policiesandlocaloperatingprocedures.

2.Submitsallreports,forms,andotherdocumentationinatimely manner.Presentsacompleteandaccurate verbalsummaryofreportstotreatmentteam membersduringteam meetings.

3.Preparesandsubmitsrequired reportsandotherdocumentation.

Responsibility6 Engages inclinicalsupervision tofacilitate the development ofclinical knowledge,skills,and professionalintegrity of mental health services provided toyouth.

1.Participatesactivelyinclinicalsupervisionsessionsasrequiredbypolicy.

2.Contactsclinicalsupervisor(s)forconsultationorclinicalsupervision whenevertheclinician encountersa situation thatposessubstantial ethicalorclinical challenges.

SocialServices Provider 1Master's degreefromanaccredited college oruniversityin Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, RehabilitationCounseling, Professional Counseling, orMaster of Education CounselingANDEligibilitytobelicensed asacounselorintheStateofGeorgia.

SocialServicesProvider2Master'sdegreefromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversityinPsychology,SocialWork, Marriageand Family Therapy, RehabilitationCounseling,ProfessionalCounseling, orMaster of Education CounselingANDTwo(2)yearsofrelatedpostgraduateexperience,ANDEligibility tobelicensed asacounselor in the State of Georgia.

Preferred Qualifications:

CompletionofaMaster's degreeinamental health fieldfrom anaccredited collegeoruniversity (e.g.,counseling, socialworkorpsychology).Thedegreemustbeinanareathatwouldqualifythegraduateforlicensure bythe Georgia Composite BoardofProfessional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists.

AND

LicensureasaStateofGeorgiaProfessionalCounselor,SocialWorker,orMarriageandFamilyTherapist.

Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience. Note: Some positions require eligibility for licensure.
