Technip Energies is seeking a Research Technologist with expertise in experimental and theoretical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting experimental research, developing computational models, and contributing to scale-up processes. About the Job

Technip Energies is seeking a Research Technologist with expertise in experimental and theoretical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting experimental research, developing computational models, and contributing to scale-up processes. As a Research Technologist, you will play a crucial role in advancing our organization's research efforts and driving innovation in the field of emerging energy transition technologies involving thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer research.

Responsibilities:

Conduct experimental research: Design and perform experiments to investigate thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat, and mass transfer phenomena, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.

Theoretical analysis: Apply your deep understanding of theoretical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat and mass transfer principles to develop mathematical models and analytical solutions.

Computational modeling: Utilize computational tools and software to simulate and predict the behavior of complex thermodynamic and fluid systems, aiding in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data.

Scale-up and process optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate laboratory-scale findings into practical applications, contributing to process scale-up and optimization efforts.

Data analysis and reporting: Analyze experimental and computational data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports, technical documents, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Equipment maintenance and calibration: Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting as needed.

Collaboration and knowledge sharing: Work closely with research teams, engineers, and scientists to exchange knowledge, contribute to project planning, and provide technical expertise.

Stay updated with industry trends: Continuously monitor advancements in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and related fields, and actively seek opportunities to apply emerging technologies to research projects.

Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer.

Research expertise: Proven experience in experimental and theoretical thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, demonstrated through publications, thesis work, or relevant projects.

Computational skills: Proficiency in computational modeling, utilizing software such as MATLAB, COMSOL, ANSYS, or similar tools for simulations and data analysis. Experience in Machine learning tools is desirable.

Experimental skills: Extensive experience in designing and conducting experiments related to thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, including familiarity with advanced measurement techniques and laboratory equipment.

Analytical mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions.

Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Team player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, sharing knowledge, contributing ideas, and supporting the achievement of project goals.

Innovation and adaptability: Demonstrated enthusiasm for innovation, a willingness to learn new techniques, and the ability to adapt to evolving research needs and technologies.
