Overview

Group 1 Automotive, Inc., a leader in automotive retail, has a new and exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Analyst. The candidate will have opportunities to learn the retail automotive industry and tax laws applying to domestic, foreign, and cross-border transactions. The candidate will join an experienced tax team who will help the candidate develop his/her tax career. The tax department currently uses multiple software products to compile data for compliance and reporting, allowing the candidate to spend more time with data analyses. Responsibilities

* Prepare corporate federal and state income tax returns
* Prepare quarterly and annual corporate tax provisions
* Compile and analyze data for complex federal, state, and international tax calculations
* Perform tax research
* Perform special projects (general tax planning, M&A activity)

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting
* CPA certification is preferred, but not required.
* 2 - 4 years of relevant experience
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Detail oriented, self-motivated with the willingness to learn a variety of tax technical areas.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Strong teamwork skills
* Strong work ethic and high professionalism
