Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Technician performs all phases of the interventional radiologic examinations on pediatric/congenital and/or adult patients in the CVIS in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures (utilizing surgical sterile technique). Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
• Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Assists with clerical and non-technical duties necessary to department operations, such as documenting procedures into department/hospital information systems, as per departmental policy, recording billing, editing and statistical information in radiology information system, (post-processing and archiving of images to PACS), maintaining and cleaning patient care equipment per infection control standards and evaluating inventory leve

Schedule:

• 8am - 4:30pm (5x8)
• 1 Weekend per month 

Requirements:

• Contract - Commitment to a 13 Week assignment
• Minimum of 1 year experience required in Specialty
• Must have Neuro Experience
• Current BLS from the AHA or ARC
• Current professional license to practice in the State of Louisiana

Pay:

• $72.00 to $.75.00 per hour
