Startup Scout

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and entrepreneurialminded Startup Scout to join our venture capital team on a fulltime basis. The Startup Scout will play a pivotal role in identifying promising earlystage startups conducting market research and sourcing investment opportunities that align with our investment thesis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our deal sourcing efforts collaborate with investment professionals and support the firms mission of identifying and investing in highpotential startups.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:

  • Conduct proactive research and scouting activities to identify promising earlystage startups innovative technologies and market trends.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential investment opportunities through networking industry events startup competitions and online platforms.

• Due Diligence and Analysis:

  • Perform initial screenings and evaluations of startups based on strategic fit market potential technology innovation and founder expertise.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence including market analysis competitive landscape assessment financial modeling and risk assessment.

• Relationship Building:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with entrepreneurs startup founders incubators accelerators and other ecosystem stakeholders to gain insights into emerging opportunities.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the firm promoting our investment criteria value proposition and commitment to supporting earlystage entrepreneurs.

• Pipeline Management:

  • Manage and prioritize deal flow pipeline track progress of potential investments and maintain accurate records in CRM systems or deal tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with investment team members to present investment opportunities prepare investment memos and participate in investment committee meetings.

• Market Research and Industry Insights:

  • Monitor industry trends market dynamics and regulatory developments relevant to venture capital and startup ecosystem.
  • Conduct market research competitor analysis and benchmarking to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.

• Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare regular reports presentations and updates on scouting activities deal flow pipeline and market insights for senior management and investment teams.
  • Communicate findings recommendations and investment opportunities effectively to internal stakeholders and contribute to investment decisionmaking processes.

Compensation:

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Economics or related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• 3 years of experience in venture capital startup scouting investment banking or related fields with a proven track record in deal sourcing and evaluation.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for technology innovation startup ecosystem and earlystage investing.
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling valuation techniques and market research.
• Effective communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
• Proactive and selfmotivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
