Sanitation Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate sanitation personnel to ensure proper cleaning of machinery and accessories.
  • Develop and maintain sanitation schedules assigning tasks to personnel and documenting completed work on the Master Sanitation Sheet.
  • Promote a safe working environment and conduct accident investigations as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of chemicals including usage tracking and ordering as needed.
  • Implement and document disciplinary actions review employee timecards and manage attendance reports.
  • Onboard new hires effectively ensuring comprehensive coverage of all onboarding areas.
  • Create maintain and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the sanitation department.
  • Perform employee evaluations annually and continuously assist in the development of sanitation staff.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and managers regarding shifttoshift issues and sanitation concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations in food manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in sanitation with at least 1 year in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English including basic reading writing and math skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and labor laws particularly as they pertain to sanitation and food manufacturing.
  • Experience with food safety protocols and sanitation standards in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to generate and maintain company documents including SOPs and training materials.
  • Flexibility to rotate shifts and work weekends if necessary.
  • Physical capability to stand walk and perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train mentor and develop sanitation staff.
  • Experience with creating and managing training matrices and KPIs.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities with the capability to address and resolve sanitation issues promptly.
  • Experience in conducting selfaudits and enforcing corrective actions in coordination with FSQA leaders.
