Summary Statement
This position will be the primary lead in the management of approximately 78 grants for the Department and supervises three subordinate positions. Works closely with section grant managers to gather information for submission to Clearinghouse and submit all necessary documentation for processing through FSF. Duties will encompass all processes from pre-award through grant close-out to include reporting and requests for reimbursement and compliance with Federal and State regulations. This position will also provide backup to the Fiscal Administrator as needed.
Selective Requirement
Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements. Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.
Six months experience in grant management, including monitoring and evaluating grant expenditures.
Essential Functions

Reviews and analyzes financial transactions and records to determine accuracy and monitors adherence to agency budget, applicable agreements, grants, or contracts, as well as state or federal laws, rules, and regulations. Analyzes, reconciles, and consolidates data to the general ledger from journals, records, and documents; takes trial balances and makes corrections, updates, and adjustments to bring funds into balance and maintains an audit trail. Reviews financial transactions, classification and codes to ensure accuracy and recommends changes. Maintains internal controls and applies accounting principles, practices, and standards. Provides advice and technical guidance on matters in assigned fiscal function(s). Compiles, analyzes and prepares a variety of statements and reports of financial health utilized in financial, budget, and personnel planning. Researches and provides data, reports and other documentation to state, federal and independent auditors and for other requests for financial information. Uses commercial and proprietary automated information systems and computer software to research, review, evaluate, and report on financial data. Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers and the public in person, electronically, or by written communication. Communicates and interacts effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races. May be responsible for purchasing, disbursement, and inventory of equipment and supplies.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Fiscal Advisor V Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Four years’ experience in compiling, analyzing and reporting on financial data to ensure effective and efficient accounting of funds or to make projections for financial planning. Two years’ experience in analyzing financial problems, developing alternatives, recommending and advising management on solutions. Coursework, training and/or work experience in budget management and control such as managing a budget for the purpose of keeping expenditures within the limitations of available appropriations and available revenue and maintaining, monitoring, projecting and controlling a budget within set policies and procedures. Coursework, training and/or work experience in staff supervision which may include performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.
