The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.
What You'll Do :
The Office of Management Information Systems administers the computer-based management systems across the ODH enterprise. The office is responsible for maintaining ODH computer networks and servers and for the development and implementation of strategies that support the current and future technology needs of the agency. We are seeking an Information Technology Supervisor to develop and implement strategies and plans for the design and utilization of information systems and technology to support the mission and strategic objectives of the department. This position will:
provide direction and oversight to the design, development, analysis and maintenance of complex and specializedstatewide computer health information to support planning and decision making for public health/agency priorities and
programs directly supervise programmers involved in the design, analysis, programming, maintenance, debugging and modifying of medium to complex and specialized computer information systems in a client/server and web environment assist staff in resolving computer problems including system design, system analysis, programming and networking
through research, consultation and team building efforts and answers technical questions establish and enforce section policies and procedures and ensure programming standards are followed evaluate hardware, software, training and telecommunication needs and prepare requisitions, bid specifications and
other acquisition documentation

Qualifications
Position Qualifications :
7 1/2 years (90 mos.)exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting; 12 months exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.
-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example, Cobol, Delphi, Java, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, Pl 1, SAS PCS, Pacbase, Full Visual Suite, Designer 2000, Developer 2000, C, C++, Visual C, ECL, or Visual Studio), logic-based mathematics, data base concepts (for example, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Paradox, Sybase, IMS DB, DB2, Cache, DMS, or RDMS), computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts; additional 5 1/2 years (66 mos.) exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting.; 12 mos. exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.

Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will bein at Pay Grade 16, Step of of the exempt Pay Range Schedule ($43.29 per hour), with an opportunity for a pay increase after six months ($45.70 per hour) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
