Compression Molding Process Technician 1st Shift

Tier 1 automotive supplier looking for an integral part of their manufacturing of frontend modules and rear bumpers at a justintime plant.

General Job Duties:

Specific Job Duties:

  • Support processes and other activities consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
  • Initiate machine processes make adjustments within process tolerances and recommend any changes for improved efficiencies.
  • Responsible for all tool changes and setup of auxiliary equipment.
  • Responsible for making the proper connections to the tools (water hydraulic vacuum and electrical).
  • Assist with setting up and loading material into the slitter machine.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot the compression presses and robots.
  • Must assist with troubleshooting assembly equipment.
  • Continually monitor all processes related to compression molding.
  • Analyze and resolve any process problems. Resolve any product nonconformity issues that may arise.
  • Assist in the setup and startup of new tools and materials for trial.
  • Conform to the implementation of continuous process improvement in the molding department.
  • Must obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Educational Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field of study preferred. Three years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

Related Work Experience:

  • Three years minimum molding experience required.
  • Must have experience processing plastics and setting tools.
  • Knowledge of robot programming and troubleshooting a must.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day the ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis. Ability to climb stairs is necessary. Good vision at a close distance is required.

Training Requirements

  • You will receive training to perform your job on an ongoing basis concurrent with The Company business operations. Training areas will include safety quality continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and The Company business operations.
