Under general supervision of the Dean of Adult Education and the program coordinator, the Math Tutor (Part-Time) providesinstruction and support tostudents in the Adult Education program.This is apart-timeposition,and itrequiresutilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

·Supportandmaintainclassroompoliciesandan effective learningenvironment.

·Communicateeffectivelywith allmembersoftheprogram.

·Tutor individuals orsmall groups of students, reinforcinginstruction asadvised by the instructor.

·Assist intheadministering andscoringavariety oftestsaccording to student performance.

·Assist instructorswith administrativetasks(schedulechanges,studentfiles,SLPs,etc.)

·Substitute/monitorclasses forinstructors onan asneededbasis (notto exceed 3 consecutive days)

·Conferwithinstructorsconcerningprogramsandmaterialstomeetstudentneeds.

·Complete documentation ofstudentprogress (SLPtasks,smallgroups and/orone-on- one review).

·Preparematerials,exhibits,equipment,anddemonstrations.

·Monitorassignedclassroomsupplies, materials,andequipment.

·Participateinmeetings,professionaldevelopmentandtraining/programsasassigned.

·Maintainconfidentiality.

·Assistwithrecruitmentandretentionactivities.

·Ensurethatallactivitiesconformtocollegeandstateguidelines.

·Supportthemissionandvisionofthecollege, programandTCSG.

·Performotherdutiesasassigned.

Competencies :

·Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

·Perform administrative duties for class management.

·Possess computer skills and knowledge of software and internet use.

Minimum Qualifications :

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

·Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a closely related field.

·Experience in Adult Education and ability to tutor students in 6th – 12th grade Math.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
