Location: Various Recreational Centers in the City of Atlanta (Rotating Locations Every 9 Weeks)
Start Date: August 6, 2024
End Date: May 29, 2025
Calendar: Follows Atlanta Public School Calendar (openings/closures)

Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to provide academic support and tutoring for K-12 students. This contractor position involves working closely with students to help them achieve their academic goals. You will be working at various recreational centers across the City of Atlanta, with locations rotating every 9 weeks to ensure accessibility for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for students in grades K-12.
  • Assist students with homework, test preparation, and understanding core academic concepts.
  • Create and maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment.
  • Track and report student progress to parents and/or guardians.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Collaborate with recreational center staff to assist children
  • Create fun enrichment activities for students during session

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of core academic subjects (Math, Science, English, Social Studies).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching environments and student needs.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to various recreational centers within the City of Atlanta.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching certification or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with the Atlanta Public School curriculum and standards.

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
