The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting for a Corrections Food Service Leader 4 position. This position is located at Racine Correctional Institution at 2019 Wisconsin St., Sturtevant, WI.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for daily production, menu planning, and provision of orientation, instruction, and communication of dietary and menu changes to food service staff. This position may use computer software in the preparation of food recipes, etc. Direct the production of meals; train and supervise Persons In Our Care (PIOC) food service workers; plan meals and procure supplies; care for and clean kitchen equipment; maintain food inventory and proper sanitation methods.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range 03-14 with a starting pay rate of $24.59/hour , plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have experience in all the following:

Working in a food service environment, including handling, preparing, and cooking/baking of food as well as following standardized recipes Maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards Leading or overseeing the work of others (e.g. training/instructing, assigning duties, reviewing work, etc.)
