Adult Learning Tutor: Multi-skilled, delivering skills for life.
Salary: NJC Grade 8. Paid monthly in arrears, on an hourly claims basis as per Casual Bank process.
Working Pattern: Casual hours. We are keen to hear form people who have various amounts of availability, ranging from a few hours per week to several days a week, including weekends or evenings.

About Us
You are applying to the West Sussex County Council Casual Bank Team. This is an in - house service, utilised by Adults, CYPL and Occupational Therapy services across West Sussex. Once successfully appointed to the team, you will be sent various assignments according to demand, which you may accept or decline as you wish.
The Adult Learning Service provides learning opportunities to anyone who lives in West Sussex, working with the community to co-design our courses.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
A sound understanding of the Education Inspection Framework and how that impacts on classroom practice.
• Subject specialism(s) at higher level than that which you will be delivering.
Job Description & Person Specification
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, especially with our priority residents and learners, taking account of individual needs including consideration of accessibility issues.
• Methodical approach with attention to detail for accurate reporting and evidencing of progress and achievement within provision.
• Excellent organisational and time keeping skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. To be adaptable and flexible to respond to the needs of the service and its learners.
• Experience of a coordinator role, drawing together a range of activities.
• Experience of effectively working / communicating with a variety of partners / stakeholders, and the ability to apply appropriate methods adapting to a variety of styles.
• Demonstrable understanding and practice of ensuring inclusive and safe learning environments.
• A good appreciation and understanding of safeguarding, prevent duty / reducing the risk of radicalisation, British values and the importance of enhancing learners’ awareness and knowledge.
• Willingness and ability to travel to venues around the county to meet delivery needs (note: reasonable efforts will be made to align delivery locations with regard to the nearest WSCC hub, but travel is expected)

Qualifications and/or experience:
• Relevant teaching qualification at minimum of Level 4 (CET / CTLLS or equivalent), or demonstrate working towards.
• Recognised qualification at least one level above the level being taught.
• GCSE 9-4 or A*-C in maths and English, and ideally a minimum level 2 IT qualification.
• Experience of teaching adult learners in community settings and/or online.
• Experience of working with and engaging with ‘hard to reach’ and vulnerable learners.
• Experience of curriculum development with peers, partners and stakeholders.
• Good general IT knowledge and ability to use common operating systems (e.g. Microsoft Office 365) and online learning platforms.
