Description

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Director of Hospitality and Merchandising. This position will manage all aspects of Fox Theatre hospitality standards and delivery to ensure an exceptional guest experience for internal and external guests. This position will ensure all aspects of the food and beverage operation excel, including concessions for the theatre, private and premium food and beverage opportunities for the Marquee Club and Private Events, and the Fox Theatre Culinary department. This position will oversee the execution of all Private Events, including operational logistics and standards, and manage Fox Theatre merchandising, including Fox Theatre-specific product development, retail opportunities, and the efficient sale of event-specific merchandise for shows and events.

Job Responsibilities

Supervise the following Departments: Food & Beverage (including Theatre Concessions, Marquee Club Beverage, Culinary, Private Events Beverage), Private Event Operations, and Merchandising. Provide training, coaching, and development necessary to build and maintain a consistent and exemplary workforce. Create and maintain industry-leading hospitality initiatives and standards to ensure the delivery of a grand sense of occasion to our internal guests, private event guests and clients, theatre guests, and artists and crews. Provide strategic leadership and direction in opportunities to improve service delivery, reduce customer and client pain points, and increase efficiencies and processes. Ensure the effective management of the Food & Beverage operation including personnel, product selection and purchasing, inventory, point of sale systems and other technologies, equipment management, speed of service and service delivery, culinary systems, storage and warehouse systems, and all applicable logistics. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the sale of alcohol, food safety, sanitation, payroll, and employment. Maximize profitability in Food & Beverage, Private Events, and Merchandise sales and show evidence of performance and strategy. Establish and manage capital and department budgets and productivity targets. Control expenditures within limitations and departmental and budget parameters. Develop and maintain a sales strategy for Fox Theatre merchandise, including venue-specific product development, in-venue sales opportunities, off-site retail opportunities, brand, and community partners. Establish standards for organizational gifting and execute needs for custom gifts for artists, crew, staff, volunteers, and VIPs as needed. Negotiate and execute merchandise agreements for touring productions including overseeing the logistics and financial settlements. Negotiate and administer service and other contract agreements for departments under your supervision as needed.

Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university. 5+ years of experience in a senior level role OR 10+ years of progressive experience in a comparable position within Food & Beverage or Hospitality or related field in a major hospitality or entertainment organization. Experience designing and implementing hospitality standards. Experience in revenue generation, business development, sales strategies, and inventory controls. Experience in Merchandising.

Education and Experience Preferred

Experience in premium services preferred. Experience in live entertainment preferred.

Skills and Abilities Required

Personnel Hiring, Coaching, Developing & Evaluating. Hospitality, Customer Service, and Guest Experience-Oriented; highly skilled in-service delivery, food & beverage logistics, premium and exclusive services, quick-service and high-volume operations. Skilled in Revenue Generation and Capital and Operational Budget Management and Inventory Management. Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, internally and within vendor and guest engagement. Skilled in management of Point-of-Sale Systems, Customer Relations Management Tools and Microsoft Products including Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, etc.

Skills and Abilities Preferred

Knowledge of Caterease, VenueOps, AllSeated and other industry-specific event management software preferred.

Physical and Special Requirements

Regular periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required. Must be able to traverse the building including moving between multiple floors. Much of this position requires the employee to be physically on-site to perform their required duties. Remote work may or may not be permissible. Off-site requirements include but are not limited to traveling for education and training, site visits, meetings. Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
