Job Overview:

This position resides in the of.The Montana Department of Revenue administers almost 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor laws, and unclaimed property for the state of Montana. The Technology Services Division is an internal support division that provides application development, quality assurance and technical operations (network and desktop) services to all other Department of Revenue divisions in meeting their goals and objectives of providing services to the State of Montana and its citizens.

Principles and practices of computer science Information systems development, enhancement, and maintenance Systems analysis, design, testing, and documentation techniques and procedures Telecommunications and information systems networking Data management products Data structures and interrelationships Training development and delivery methods System and network capabilities, computer operating systems, equipment, and software Project planning and management Provide timely, customer service Handling multiple priorities under deadlines Effectively interpret policies and procedures in a wide variety of project areas Research and analysis Accuracy and attention to detail Conflict resolution & customer service Microsoft programs and other data base applications Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication Managing complex and varied system development and management projects Isolating and resolving advanced technical problems Establishing project goals, timelines, and standards Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

Working Conditions

Work hours may exceed 40 hours from time to time, including weekends. Office environment. Lifting is infrequent, less than 15 pounds. Some travel may be required, must have a valid driver’s license.

REMOTE/TELEWORK: This position may be eligible to work from an approved worksite within the state of Montana. This position would be required to report to a Department of Revenue office assigned by the supervisor. Employees must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program.

Training Assignment: This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
