AECOM is seeking a Advance Treatment-Reuse Project Manager to be based in Orange, California or Los Angeles, California.

The Advance Treatment-Reuse Project Manager will support and lead projects for water and wastewater clients primarily in the greater Southern California area, but to also include national projects including planning, designing and construction support services related to water and wastewater infrastructure which may be comprised of water/wastewater treatment facilities and wastewater reuse facilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as the Project Manager on major water reuse projects.

  • Execute work involving water/wastewater treatment facilities and wastewater reuse facilities. Work will also include conventional types of civil and utility engineering improvements for new and existing water, recycled water, wastewater, conveyance, and civil/site projects.

  • Identifies new business opportunities for the firm, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes firm's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.

  • Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of firm's qualification/experience statements.

  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.

  • Directs project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitors subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.

  • Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.

  • Supervise technical professionals, associate project managers and design staff including workload and staffing management.

  • Monitors and reports financial status of projects to technical managers.

  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten (10) or more years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in California or the ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment is preferred.

  • Experience working on municipal projects.

  • Experience working with local clients in the Southern California region is a plus.

  • Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
