The is currently recruiting to fill a Teacher – Production Baking position. This position is based out of New Lisbon Correctional Institution in New Lisbon, WI (Juneau County).

Position Summary

This position will develop and implement a program of professional educational services in Production Baking to persons in our care (PIOC) in order to meet their assessed individual academic and/or vocational needs.

This instructor will provide instruction in the area of baking to include estimating and ordering supplies, quantity baking, production scheduling, equipment operation, recipe conversion, inventory control, quality control, sanitation and safety and portion control.

This position will also complete all required documentation of student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements in a timely manner, monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffings and meetings.

This teacher will provide training to others and engage in specialized instruction and projects upon request.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 with a starting pay of $29.13/hour - $34.03/hour .Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.A probationary period is required.

This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification. This add-on ranges from $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour of additional pay, based on relevant credits and professional development actions, as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the .

Job Details

Remote work is not available for these positions. This position is FLSA Exempt. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university plus:

3.5 years (7,000 hours) of documented professional baking experience making a variety of bakery products, with a demonstrated understanding of the science of baking. At least one (1) year (2,000 hours) of the related work experience must be within the past five (5) years. Willingness to obtain a Bachelor's degree within an agreed timeframe

OR

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus:

Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of documented professional baking experience making a variety of bakery products, with a demonstrated understanding of the science of baking.At least one (1) year (2,000 hours) of the related work experience must be within the past five (5) years.

* Note: Wisconsin Technical College System ( WTCS) requirements also include a ServSafe Certifications as follows, which must be provided at the time of application:

ServSafe Instructor and Proctor Certificate (along with a copy of a minimum 75% test score) granted by the National Restaurant Association Solutions;

AND

ServSafe Food Manager certificate (along with a copy of a 90% Score) granted by the National Restaurant Association.
