Mon-Fri 40 hrs.
Need someone with a strong business analytics background in addition to a strong accounting background. Ideal candidate will be able to handle the accounting/financial rhythm of business process but will have a good understanding of business analytics to recognize if there are discrepancies in the data or a trend that needs to be flagged to the Minecraft Business Team.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of ExperienceMinimum 2-4 years' experience with Month and reconciliation in the finance sideMinimum 2-4 years' experience actual financial analysis, from actual revenue to financial reports and reconciliation, being able to determine accuracy determine any kind of red flags or any discrepancies that need to be thrown over to myself or the business analytics specialist.Minimum 2-4 years' experience with Attention to details and communication skills we somebody that is able to enable follow process very closely and accurately.ResponsibilitiesAcquire data, develop, and maintain Excel based databases/data collection systems.Monitor performance and quality control to identify efficiencies and improvements.Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutionsEffectively communicate insights and plans within the Business TeamMonitor and maintain accurate financial records and status of partners to facilitate effective financial management, invoicing, and reportingQualifications/SkillsAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel and competency in MS Word and OutlookStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyCrucial Projects/Areas of Need
1. Royalty Payment Data Validation (Quarterly)Track receipt of and validate data from multiple sales statements (direct from platform partners and from internal tools)Once Excel data is validated, format and send for approvals2. 3P Platform Partner Revenue Statements (Weekly)Reconcile each platform partners revenue statements and collaborate with our Stockholm based team to issue PO/invoices for 3P platformsoMonitor platform partner statement status through the Royalty Workbook (Excel), jointly managed by our team and Stockholm Finance TeamCalculate Mobile Accruals for Month End Process (ROB)Utilize sales information from our Mobile platform partners sales dashboard to calculate accruals for month endOnce Excel data is validated, format and send for approvalsOnce approved, partner with Studio Finance partner to ensure accurate entry into month end close filesTypical Day in the RolePurpose of the Team: Making sure that from a gaming side at Mojang that we are paying all our Minecraft partners correctly and that we are receiving all of our retail's orders correctly.Key projects: There is a whole royalty tracker that this role is responsible for, it is not necessarily a single project that the vendor will be working on.Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: 50% independent work where they are going through receiving statements for an actual revenue or our unit sales and our right revenue statements that were receiving from our Sony Nintendo Partners. And the other 30% we will be updating various documents to make sure that we are processing our royalties due from Disney or Universal. 20% meeting with the business analytics specialist, she will be responsible for training them.Candidate RequirementsYears of Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience.Degrees or certifications required: A bachelor's in business management, finance or accounting.Disqualifiers: If they have never work in a role with royalty reporting, it will be a concern but not necessary a deal breaker.Best vs. Average: Someone that has a
strong baseline understanding of business and finance. And that have spent 2-4 years in business operations and finance in the entertainment company.
