Report in location: 2855 West Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235
Work Days and hours would vary between Monday - Friday 7:00 am – 4:30 pm depending on student’s schedule.
This position is summer only (June - August) - hours per week are based on Intern's availability
The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour
Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour
Major/field of study should be in: Emergency Management; Public Policy, Business Administration; Natural Resources; Environmental Science; City or Urban Planning; Public Health; and/or Meteorology
Job duties:
·Help in reviewing emergency operations plans for all of Ohio’s eighty-eight (88) counties.
·Assist with updating and revising the fifty-two elements of the state emergency operations plan.
·Help to maintain and update the Ohio Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) and a number of resource and reference materials for use by partners and stakeholders.

Ohio Public Employees Retirement System

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
Be in good standing with the college/university.
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Be enrolled in at least one course.
Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
