Senior Trade Manager, Food and Fibre Exports

Reporting to the Team Lead of Food and Fibre Exports, the regionally based Senior Trade Manager oversees the delivery of Austrade TradeStart services across regional Victoria and supports broader trade initiatives, on behalf of Global Victoria, the official trade promotion and facilitation branch within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) of the Victorian Government.
Below are the main responsibilities of this role:
Lead the successful delivery of TradeStart services in regional Victoria including contractual and reporting requirements, day-to-day operational management, team development including one-on-one coaching and performance reviews. Oversee client engagement pipeline across regional Victoria including your own region. Proactively identify priority clients across key food and beverage sectors, evaluate their market readiness and capability and provide effective business development assistance and referrals. Provide new and established Victorian exporters (clients) with one-on-one specialist trade advice, build export plans and capability, and provide tangible connections to global markets through Austrade and Victorian Government Trade and Investment Offices (VGTIs).The Team
The position of Senior Trade Manager, Food & Fibre Exports forms a part of Global Victoria, within the ITI Group. Global Victoria, within the ITI Group, connects Victoria to global opportunities. We do this by building the export capability of Victorian businesses, connecting Victorians to global trade opportunities through our international network of 23 offices, and promoting our world class industry capabilities to international audiences. We take a leadership role for global engagement across government and advocate for the best policy settings for Victoria to be globally competitive.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Strong track record of building and maintaining successful relationships with a diverse range of clients, stakeholders, and partners, effectively supporting their business development requirements. Demonstrable experience in trade, international business, or a relevant field with an understanding of global market dynamics, trade regulations and/or compliance requirements. Including familiarisation with the agrifood sector. Commercially oriented and solution-focused, you possess strong analytical skills that enable you to provide informed advice that align client objectives with business or international market opportunities.Further Information
