The Program Supervisor V (Assistant Director of Treatment Services) performs highly complex (senior-level) administrative and supervisory duties under the supervision of the Director of Treatment Services. The Assistant Director of Treatment Services provides assistance and support to the Director of Treatment Services to ensure effective clinical programming is in place for each treatment unit at the facility. The Assistant Director of Treatment Services will train, lead, assign, and collaborate with other professionals on behalf of the treatment services department. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the patient care unit. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Essential Job Functions:
• Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Completes, compiles, and evaluates quality control audits to ensure the clinical staff remain in compliance with policy, procedures, and guidelines set forth.
• Develops assessment tools to evaluate the overall department's performance rate. Analyzes the outcomes and provides written recommendations on how to operationally make improvements.
• Supervises the admissions department staff, case managers, aftercare coordinators, and other assigned staff in order to provide leadership and continuity of services to ensure compliance with the facility and operating plan and applicable policies and procedures, as well as administration of unit programming. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, selecting and hiring potential employees, scheduling and assigning workload, establishing performance measures, evaluating work performance, providing feedback and guidance, recommending staff development and training, recommending personnel and disciplinary actions, and scheduling and approving leave.
• Directs orientation and training of Treatment Services staff to ensure quality services and support for the facility mission.
• Provides clinical services to an assigned caseload to provide coverage for vacant positions.
• Ensures assigned staff participate in mandatory training in order to ensure staff competence and development.
• Attends and participates in various committees and work groups of the facility to provide program expertise. Serves on the Executive Management Committee in the absence of the Director of Treatment Services.
• Provides direct client services through supervisory activities as deemed necessary.
• Schedules and maintains coverage of Treatment Team Coordinator and Case Manager duties in absence of one or more employees to ensure leadership and continuation of treatment services for each individual.
• Promotes and advocates principles of workforce diversity as detailed in the department’s Workforce Diversity Plan in order to achieve cultural diversity in the department.
• Provides coverage during the absence of the Director of Treatment Services.
• Provides training on various clinical techniques for Trauma Informed Care such as Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI), SPARCS techniques for group therapy, and techniques commonly used with clients diagnosed with Autism.
• Performs other duties as assigned. • Knowledge of aggressive/assaultive behavior of residents.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention.
• Knowledge of behavior therapy.
• Knowledge of Person-Centered Treatment Practices.
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care.
• Knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training techniques.

• Skill in reading and writing in accordance with the Mental Health Record System (MHRS).
