Come be a part of the We are currently recruiting for a Fiscal Supervisor to join our Water Quality team.
The Water Quality (WQ) Fiscal Supervisor oversees division-wide fiscal operations supporting the division’s programs and activities. Successful incumbent is responsible for executive planning process for the division, developing the division biennial budget, fiscal note preparation, manages appropriations, and manages the division budget. In addition, the Fiscal Supervisor provides leadership and direct supervision of division fiscal staff.DEQ’s employees are the heart of our organization and culture. The WQ Fiscal Supervisor position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression. This position may be eligible for a 4% base pay increase July 1, 2024. In your cover letter, describe how your education, knowledge and skills have prepared you for this position, including but not limited to: 1) developing and maintaining a culture of excellence in air quality law implementation, 2) leading program improvements, as applicable, 3) working with stakeholders on ongoing program implementation, and 4) growing and mentoring staff. Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, business administration, or a related field that includes direct experience in accounting or management. Education or experience in a related field preferred. Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible accounting or budgeting, or directly related experience. Demonstrated experience in leading people is required, although this may be from roles other than formal supervisory experience. Experience in government accounting and budgeting is preferred (including Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resources System (SABHRS) and IBARS).Other combinations of education and experience may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
