ABOUT THE ROLE:

Applications are invited from experienced database and administrative managers to join the energetic Genetic Department team at Mercy Hospital for Women. Our Genetics department provides a service to the North East region of Victoria and beyond and is responsible for managing women, and families with a history of a genetic condition, a complex pregnancy and/or a screening/genetic testing result. The manager will work closely with the team to ensure best practice. They will work independently and be proactive in their approach.

Genetics department at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg Part-time (4 days, 32 hours p/w) permanent position Complement and support strategic direction and management of Genetic Services by coordinating and delivering all areas of data collection and administration for the Department of Health Organise multidisciplinary case conferences along with administrative duties Consult and liaise with multiple external agencies, hospitals and referring doctors, in accordance with Victorian Privacy Laws unique to Genetics.

ABOUT YOU:

To secure this interesting and challenging role, you will have experience in data collection and data administration. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly organised, flexible and self-motivated. The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to interact with patients with high level sensitivity and care within a Genetic Counselling setting.  You will be required to work both independently as well as within a team environment, and possess excellent communication and consultation skills and a high-level client-focus.  Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines Previous experience in a Genetics Clinic or hospital setting would be desirable

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
