Computer Information Systems Tutor.

Nature of Duties:

·Under general supervision, tutors students enrolled in Computer Information Systems and related courses.

·Meets with students individually or in groups on an established basis in a classroom setting.

·Carefully listens to student requests and provides positive feedback.

·Offers support to encourage student learning.

·Identifies appropriate supplemental teaching materials to assist a student with accomplishing required learning objectives.

·Discusses student progress with instructor and appropriate academic staff.

·Provides oral and written reports, as required, including reporting through the TCSG early alert system.

·Performs basic administrative duties to support the daily operations of the tutoring program.

·Position may require day/evening tutoring in a multi-campus setting.

Minimum Qualifications: (candidates must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered)

·Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (ex: Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Security/Cybersecurity, Computer Software Engineering Systems, Networking/Technology, IT Management, Technology Management) from an accredited institution

·Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

·Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution

·Teaching experience at the postsecondary level

·Directly related field experience

·Online teaching experience

Schedule: Various hours, Monday – Thursday; 10 – 20 hours per week.

Salary/Benefits: $15-20/hr. No benefits.
