Job Description:
Under the direction and supervision of the Immunization Program Supervisor/Hereford and headquartered in Amarillo, the TVFC Coordinator is part of the regional immunization infrastructure. It serves as the subject matter expert on the Texas Vaccine for Children (TVFC) program for Public Health Region 1 (PHR-1). Develops and implements direct recruitment activities for provider enrollment into the TVFC program. Prepare and disseminate TVFC program reports and analyzing program performance; to include provider enrollment, provider recruitment, Quality Assurance site visit, risk assessment, educational, and technical assistance reports. Responsible for Quality Assurance Site Visits for enrolled TVFC public providers. Monitors the coordination and completion of routine Quality Assurance site monitoring visits for TVFC providers. Assesses the educational needs of PHR-1 in relation to TVFC and is responsible for measuring the effect of education efforts and completing routine reports. Collaborates and routinely works with local health department immunization staff, TVFC providers, and regional immunization staff providing TVFC education, training, technical assistance, and recruitment. Conduct Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) activities for TVFC providers under PHR-1 jurisdiction to facilitate compliance with program requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Safe operation of either a state owned vehicle or personal vehicle is required to conduct state business and an acceptable driving record must be maintained in accordance with DSHS Policy OS-, Fleet Operations and Management & Procedures and standards developed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Essential Job Functions:
(40%) Serves as the regional subject matter expert for the Texas Vaccine for Children Program (TVFC). Responsible for monitoring TVFC providers’ annual enrollment process, assuring timely submittal to regional and central office. Evaluates TVFC providers performance to include provider enrollment, provider recruitment, quality assurance site visits & follow-up visits, risk assessment, educational and technical assistance reports. Responsible for assuring TVFC providers timely update including current policies and procedural changes; Responsible for orientation training for newly enrolled providers to TVFC program; to include vaccine usage/accountability/storage and handling guidelines for the TVFC program. Monitor compliance with existing policies and procedures. Serves as a regional liaison/educator for local coalitions, advocacy group, and community leaders interested in promoting immunization services. Documents all educational, technical assistance, and training provided using various applications to accomplish tasks, which may include Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft WORD, and Microsoft Excel.

(30%) Monitors the coordination and completion of routine quality assurance site monitoring visits for TVFC providers to ensure compliance with policies/procedural guidelines; including scheduling, clinic visits, record reviews, report submittal and follow up. Review reports submitted and recommend technical assistance as needed to improve service delivery. Responsible for the Quality Assurance Site Visit for enrolled TVFC public providers. Ensure proper storage and filing of Quality Assurance reports. Ensure timely report submittal to regional and central office according to TVFC guidelines.

(10%) Assist with coordination, scheduling and conducting regional IQIP assessment for enrolled TVFC providers to facilitate meeting program goals and objectives established. Monitor IQIP assessment reports collection conducted during Quality Assurance Site Visits. Review and analyze reports to facilitate identifying training needs and activities to improve service delivery, using a variety of software applications, which may include Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, IQIP reports. Ensures timely submittal of assessments conducted, forward to regional and central offices. Maintain current database of enrolled TVFC providers; identifying monitoring status and submit quarterly and annual report of program performance. Coordinate with regional ImmTrac2/IIS coordinator in developing and implementing promotional strategies for DSHS immunization tracking system and to improve immunization coverage.

(10%) Conduct regional Quality Assurance Site Visit update training/presentations for regional staff and local health departments to facilitate improved provider assessment coverage levels. Assist with developing, coordinating, and conducting training and/or presentations related to Standards of Practice for Immunization compliance, changing technology and new approaches to infant tracking for public and private providers, communities, support groups and regional staff, using a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft WORD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Assist with promoting educational training opportunities offered.

(10%) Completes special assignments and other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
