skilled position serves as the Education Administrator for the Department of Labor.�Administrator I encompasses the full performance to second line managerial levels of administrative staff work related to the administration of departmental policy and overseeing or coordinating agency operations or functioning as a special assistant to an executive.\r

Main Purpose of Job

To provide management and supervision of administrative and technical functions of the Maryland Real Estate Commission relating to all aspects of education, business meeting, auditing, and specific license issues.\r

POSITION DUTIES

Duties of this position includes but are not limited to:\r

Approve or deny education and experience credentials for Salesperson, Associate Broker, Broker�applicants to qualify for exam and licensure under real estate law and regulations.\r
Approve or deny providers of continuing education and approve/deny topics of instruction for�continuing education credit to renew a license.\r
Approve course materials for 60 hours Principal & Practices, and 135 hours Broker courses.\r
Approve or recommend changes to curricula for Principles and Practices Salespersons, Principles and Practices for Brokers to complete the certification process by the Maryland Higher Education commission of private real estate career schools in Maryland.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work. \r
Notes: \r
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. \r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience managing an education program.\r
Supervisory\r
experience hiring, training, reviewing timesheets, preparing semi-annual and\r
annual PEP reports, and evaluating work assignments.\r

with education law, regulations, and policies.\r
Pre-licensing\r
real estate course.\r
\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
