The Information Directorate, Alliances, Transitions and Customer Relations branch seeks to hire a lead for the Office of Research & Technology Applications. The incumbent will serve as the directorate lead for technology transfer efforts to industry and academia.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:


• Liaises with directorate scientists and engineers to deepen and expand partnerships with academia and industry to promote transfer research opportunities.

• Actively coordinates and advises the transfer of directorate technology, intellectual property, processes, and products to practical applications outside the Air Force.

• Prepares, reviews or directs short- and long-term teaming/collaboration strategies across all technology transfer agreements.

• Promotes an increase in invention disclosures by maintaining market awareness and exploitation of directorate technology portfolio.

• Develops relationships with outside organizations to identify innovative approaches to meet the AF goals of non-traditional methods of engaging security researchers for the development of resilient systems.

• Represents AFRL/RI at HQ AFRL, Air Force, and DoD on technology transfer policy and strategy; and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


• United States Citizenship

• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance

• Must possess a professional science or engineering (S&E) degree from an accredited academic institution

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level.

• Travel is a requirement of the position

• An understanding of advanced information technology transfer

• Recognizing and resolving technology, process, policy or communications issues

• Teaming with civilian and military personnel, support contractors, and industry subject-matter experts

• Strong communications and negotiation skills
