JOB PURPOSE

Summarize in one statement how this job contributes to the overall mission and goals of Honda.

Oversee overall production execution, including Business Plan objectives and all areas of SEQCDM (Safety, Environment, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale). Plan and control manpower, control and manage department budget, and lead manufacturing teams to promote associate and company success.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

List the key accountabilities that must be carried out to fulfil the job purpose. % of time

• Evaluate manpower and equipment concerns throughout the shift, make adjustments and/or communicate issues to proper areas to ensure production is achieved safely and with high quality. 30

• Review and evaluate production results daily, monthly and quarterly. Identify areas of improvement, determine root cause of issues, and establish plan for improvement and implement. 10

• Confirm daily production plan and communicate with support groups to ensure production targets are achieved. 10

• Effectively communicate upstream and downstream to all levels of the organization to ensure common understanding and direction. 10

• React quickly to make adjustments that impact aspects of Safety, Quality, and/or Delivery of product to the customer. 10

• Confirm production areas are complying to 5S/COP and safety standards of NCM; order necessary materials and tools to ensure safety and quality. 10

• Complete production reports, safety incident reports, downtime tracking and daily SQCDM reports; review/approve manpower working hours (Kronos). 10

• Review daily check sheets for Safety, Equipment, and Quality to ensure the information is accurate and determine if countermeasures are needed. 5

• Develop and mentor support staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge needed to produce products safely and with high Quality. 5

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Educational Qualifications  High School Diploma/GED equivalent

Minimum Experience  2+ years manufacturing related experience, 1+ year in supervisory role

Other Job-Specific Skills  Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills

 Strong interpersonal communication skills

 Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 Thorough understanding of Assembly concepts

 Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal Contacts  Production Engineering – identify problems and opportunities with assembly automation, collectively create improvement plans.

 Team/Zone Leads – coordinate solutions to various production and associate issues, make strategies to achieve targets.

 Production Associates – communicate latest information and direction to maintain a One Team approach.

 Logistics and Quality – communicate daily plan to ensure each team is prepared for any changes in daily production plan.

External Contacts  R&D – understand new products in order to develop plan (space, manpower, cost, etc.)

 Suppliers – work with outside vendors to procure materials needed for production and investigate potential cost down ideas to reduce overall cost of production.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Majority of time is in production environment, but some time is spent in office area

• ~10 hours overtime per week is possible

• Occasional weekend work

• Travel as required, typically less than 5%
