Duties

RELOCATION AND RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE AUTHORIZED

The Community Living Center provides inpatient Veteran/resident care for Veterans with acute and chronic health conditions with diverse culture and religious/gender orientation. Veterans may need dementia, rehabilitation, long term, palliative and/or hospice care.

Practical Nurse (CLC) duties include but are not limited to:

  • Delivers care to patients in a respectful non-judgmental manner and according to Patient Care Plan
  • Demonstrates understanding of age - and population - specific characteristics that affect the health care needs of the veteran.
  • Performs aspects of admission /discharge procedures as directed
  • Collects patient data including observations of patient status (i.e. vital signs, intake/output, skin condition, mental status, etc.).
  • Accurately reports patient/client information.
  • Recognizes subtle and significant changes in the patient in response to nursing care.
  • Promptly recognizes urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeks assistance and effectively intervenes as directed when appropriate.
  • Communicates changes in patient condition/response to nursing care.
  • Organizes/ prioritizes routine and non-routine nursing care activities (ADLs, medication administration, wound care, EKG, foley catheter insertion, bladder scan, etc.)
  • Provides care to patients/clients appropriate to their cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation.
  • Accurately documents and retrieves patient/clinical information using electronic medical record.
  • Provides effective education to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease processes, medications, and/or prescribed diagnostic and/or treatment regimes, as directed.
  • Adheres to standards of practice and safe technique in preparation and administration of medicine, documents administration in BCMA.
  • Observes patient for adverse effects from medication and reports to the team RN.

Work Schedule:

CLC Seattle: 8 hours shifts available: Day Shift , Evening shift , and Night Shift , 12 hour (+ one 8 hour shift) shifts available: and to be determined by managers upon hire, based on needs of the unit.
