Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.



Duties

This is an open-continuous announcement. The announcement will remain open until there is no longer a need. There will be multiple cut-off dates used to consider applications for referral to the selecting official. Candidates will be referred bi-weekly.

This position (LPN) position does go out in to the outreach community occasionally

  • LPN duties will vary based on grade:
    • Delivers care to patients in a respectful non-judgmental manner and according to Patient Care Plan
    • Demonstrates understanding of age - and population - specific characteristics that affect the health care needs of the veteran.
    • Performs aspects of admission /discharge procedures as directed
    • Collects patient data including observations of patient status.
    • Accurately reports patient/client information.
    • Recognizes subtle and significant changes in the patient in response to nursing care.
    • Promptly recognizes urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeks assistance and effectively intervenes as directed when appropriate.
    • Communicates changes in patient condition/response to nursing care.
    • Organizes/ prioritizes routine and non-routine nursing care activities
    • Provides care to patients/clients appropriate to their cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation.
    • Accurately documents and retrieves patient/clinical information using electronic medical record.
    • Provides effective education to patients and/or family members in relation to common disease processes, medications, and/or prescribed diagnostic and/or treatment regimes, as directed.
    • Adheres to standards of practice and safe technique in preparation and administration of medicine, documents administration in BCMA.
    • Observes patient for adverse effects from medication and reports to the team RN.
  • Primary Care Clinics: The PACT Licensed Practical Nurse at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System is responsible for providing direct and/or indirect patient care to an assigned group of patients. She/he will have the knowledge, skill and experience to carry out assignments involving point of care testing, providing treatments and vaccinations, performing diagnostic studies, and patient/family education. The LPN demonstrates active collaboration and communication with Patient Aligned Care Teamlet (Patient, Primary Care Provider, RN Care Manager and Administrative Associate) and Larger Team (family/caregiver, internal and community-based services and disciplines involved in providing care to the patient).
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
