Providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
Assuming responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
Administering medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.Influencing care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Participating in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
Providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned residents.
Overseeing of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.
Assisting in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation.
Delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
Providing peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement.
Fostering a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals.
Contributing professional nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.
Partnering with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes.
Supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
Sharing educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers.
Questioning clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care.
Participating in activities and strategies to sustain an evidence-based-practice culture.
Collaborating with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) coordinator to ensure documentation is accurate and reflective of the Resource Utilization Group (RUG) score.
This position is eligible forthe Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP),
a student loan payment reimbursement program.
You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
