We are seeking a dynamic BI Product Owner to spearhead the development and enhancement of our data solutions. The BI Product Owner will play a pivotal role in driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our data initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders and interacting with our engineering team, which utilizes Redshift, Databricks, SAS, Power BI, and Looker. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of business acumen, technical expertise in BI tools and platforms, and exceptional leadership and communication skills.

This role is based out of our Eden Prairie, MN head office within our hybrid environment that has team members come into the office 3 days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate our BI vision, strategy, and roadmap to align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features for BI initiatives.
  • Host workshops and sessions to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to boost user adoption of BI solutions through training and support.
  • Work closely with engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions using various tools.
  • Define and prioritize user stories and features for the product backlog.
  • Lead sprint planning and review meetings for timely delivery of solutions.
  • Define data quality metrics to enhance data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards.
  • Establish best practices for data management and access control.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of technical product management experience with business intelligence technologies such as: MicroStrategy, Looker, Domo, Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, SageMaker, Spark, EMR, Redshift, Databricks, SQL Server etc. Preferably AWS BI Cloud Technologies.
  • 2 years of hands on SQL or BI Tool (MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau etc.) experience.
  • 2 years agile/scrum team experience with tools such as: JIRA, Monday, Asana, etc.
  • Demonstrated results in identifying data quality trends, anomalies, and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain data integrity and reliability.
  • Strong technical aptitude to evaluate requirements and coordinate with the user community and technical engineers.
  • Proven track record demonstrating a deep understanding of product life cycle management to take a product idea from conception to market release, including new product line introduction, upgrades, enhancements, etc.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, influence and coordinate activities in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment to deliver technology applications or technical products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years JIRA agile/scrum team experience.
  • 2 years working with Data Science and Big Data user communities.
  • Knowledge of other Project Management Methodologies such as: Agile, Waterfall, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.
