Collins Aerospace is looking for a Staff Stress Laboratory Technician to work in our Structures Engineering Stress lab.
- Position is working onsite at our Troy, OH facility
- Relocation assistance is available
Primary Responsibilities
- Lay, attach, wire, and solder strain gages on aircraft wheels and brakes for testing.
- Locate and mark gage locations from engineering drawings
- Connect and properly route wires, and assemble using appropriate slip ring connectors
- Build up instrumented wheel and brake assemblies for test.
- Set up and collect data using the provided data acquisition systems
- Install and collect data using linear displacement sensors (LDS), Laser measurement systems, analog signals, and ultrasonic sensors.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and with support during strain gage testing
- Work with other stress lab technicians and engineers in preparing instrumentation for test.
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
- Knowledge of basic mechanics and electronics
- Experience with troubleshooting
Qualifications/Experience Preferred
- Aerospace field experience
- Prior experience working in a lab environment
- Experience laying and wiring strain gages and soldering
- Experience with setting up and running tests using data acquisition systems
- Technical knowledge of load cells and how they work.

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
